IndyCar Grand Prix bonus for concours visitors
Car afficianados attending the Celebration of Automobiles — the concours d’elegance hosted by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in early May — are used to getting a sampling of the upcoming Indy 500 Race. Previously, the display of cars throughout the Pagoda Plaza and Gasoline Alley areas took place on opening day of practice for the famous race, but this year, it coincides with a full day of racing, capped off by the inaugural IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis. What a deal! A $25 general admission ticket will get you an up-close view of more than 100 invited historic and vintage cars with an opportunity to visit with owners and restorers. Then at 3:50, the green flag will send the top IndyCar drivers off on an 82-lap race over the 14-turn, 2.4 mile course. The race will be broadcast live on ABC, begining at 3:30. Schedule of events
